Chemical Peels

Glycolic acid, salicylic acid and combination acid peels such as the vitalize peel are used to treat actinic keratoses (precancerous lesions), uneven discoloration, sun damaged or aging skin. These chemicals disrupt the "glue" that holds skin cells together and allow the outermost layers of the skin to be shed gradually, revealing younger, healthier and smoother skin. Since these peels require little "downtime" they are appropriately labeled "lunchtime" peels. The key is that they allow you to return to work without taking any time off.

Microdermabrasion (The SilkPeel)

More than just a microdermabrasion system, the SilkPeel is the only procedure that provides both traditional exfoliation and delivery of specific topical solutions under pressure, leaving patients with fresher-feeling and better-looking skin. It is not only painless but also very soothing with immediate and noticeable improvement of skin texture and tone. The closed-loop vacuum system utilizes a diamond tip to exfoliate the outer layer of skin while infusing beneficial topicals and stimulating new cell growth. There are no messy aluminum-based crystals which eliminates any risk of skin irritation or health concerns. The SilkPeel can be used to treat:

  • All skin types
  • Acne
  • Hyperpigmentation/Discoloration
  • Photodamage
  • Dehydration/Dry flaky skin
  • Fine Line Wrinkles

4-6 treatment spaced 7-10 days apart are recommended for significant visible results. Monthly maintenance sessions are suggested for continued benefits.

Laser Treatment

Lasers produce a beam of light in a single wavelength with variable intensity and pulse rate that is capable of precisely cutting, sealing or vaporizing tissue such as skin and blood vessels. Laser light is absorbed by water or dark pigments (melanin in skin, hemoglobin in blood) in the tissue and converted to heat. A variety of functional and cosmetic skin problems are treatable with lasers, which are often specialized to handle a particular type of problem.

The following conditions are treatable through laser treatment:

  • Laser hair removal for all skin types; even the darkest skin tones
  • Vascular lesions
  • Pigmented lesions
  • Acne
  • Leg veins

Radiesse®

Radiesse® is a synthetic injectable filler that has been approved by the FDA to reduce moderate to severe wrinkles, folds and creases around the nose and mouth by stimulating the natural production of collagen in the skin. This product is made of microspheres composed of calcium hydroxylapatite within a water-based gel and is made from minerals similar to what makes up our bones. Radiesse can be injected directly into the skin with no need for pre-testing.

Radiesse is most effective in reducing the appearance of smile lines, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and other wrinkles around the nose and mouth. The results of this procedure are visible immediately after the injection and can last for up to a year or even longer. With continued treatment, patients will require fewer and fewer injections.

Sclerotherapy

A procedure used for years and is the most effective way of treating spider leg veins and varicose veins. It involves injecting a chemical into the vein which causes injury to the walls of the blood vessels making them collapse. The risk of scarring with this treatment is minimal although minor swelling, bruising and dark marks can occur for a few days after treatment.
